Italian Chain Carluccio's To Launch Vegan Pop Up Eatery In London

Italian restaurant chain Carluccio's is set to open a new vegan pop-up this October in London, as we see the diet trend continue to flourish. The location for the new eatery will be at Carluccio's flagship store in Covent Garden and will be run in collaboration with chef and blogger Anna Barnett.

From October 23, visitors will be able to order from vegan or vegetarian Italian dishes from a wide range of plant-based offerings, including Polpette di pane - meatless bread balls of semi-dried tomatoes, garlic, capers and rustica olives in a tomato sauce on spaghetti; Orecchiette al cavoflore with cauliflower puree, sautéed kale, chilli and roasted turmeric cauliflower florets; and Pasta e fagioli - a thick Italian soup of pasta, bortolli beans and tomatoes.

"We have seen a huge demand for more vegetarian and vegan dishes, many from our millennial diners who are giving up or reducing their meat intake, either for environmental and/or health reasons," said Neil Wickers, Carluccio's CEO.

"Our new menu firmly puts the spotlight on vegetables and the Cucina Verde has been created to further highlight the variety of delicious meat-free dishes we now have on offer across all our restaurants every day."

The pop-up's launch follows Carluccio's recent launched of an extensive Vegan menu across its UK eateries. Find out more about Carluccio's on its website here. Discover more about all food and drinks trends over on our trendhub. Not yet subscribed? Get in touch today.
