Here are three of our key take-outs from this year's report:
- Egg Alts: As the price of chocolate continues to rise, confectionery is becoming a cost-effective alternative. Gummies, jellies and fluffy foam treats come in all the shapes and flavours of Easter, while marshmallow finds a new role as an alternative canvas for egg dying!
- Eat-well Easter: The season's typical treats have been reformulated to create offerings that, while no less indulgent, offer a 'bonus' health benefit. From gut health to blood sugar to beauty, these products promise health-aligned perks and bring a more conscious form of consumption to Easter's feasting fare.
- Hot Cross Fun: We always see plenty of plays around the hot cross bun each year, but this Easter things have reached a whole new level! The HCB is everywhere, flavouring eggs and ice cream, burgers and Benedict, with retail, foodservice and social media awash with fun and inventive HCB mash-ups. Hot cross bun flavoured sausage, anyone?
