MasterChef Australia finalist, also earning himself the accolade of the nation's 'Dessert King', Reynold Poernomo has opened a new flagship KOI Dessert Bar with immersive Degustations in Chippendale, New South Wales.
A popular hospitality figure down under following two appearances on MasterChef, seasons 7 and 12, where he placed 4th and 3rd respectively, Poernomo initially closed his first KOI Dessert Bar in 2021. Having announced at the time that the journey wasn't over, Poernomo now returns with a new flagship KOI Dessert Bar in Chippendale which invites guests through three immersive experiences.
First you start at the standard dessert bar format, reminiscent of the first location, presenting KOI's signature range of desserts for takeaway or eat-in. The evening then presents the second space, a revamped Monkey's Corner cocktail bar where noodles and sake take centre stage.
The final aspect of the new venue is an intimate 12 person restaurant which offers a chef's table type set up where Poernomo himself creates a ten-course degustation spanning both sweet and savoury flavours.
