Asda turns up the heat with its first-ever £4 hot meal deal

Asda is bringing a little more sizzle to the lunchtime rush with the launch of its first-ever hot food meal deal, priced at just £4.

The new offering gives shoppers a choice of 30 hot food combinations, with 17 mains, five sides and eight dips to mix and match. Breakfast is covered too, with options including sausage or bacon baps with hash browns, while lunch choices include sausage rolls, pizza slices, Scotch pies and skin-on fries. It's another move from Asda to beef up its food-to-go credentials, following the supermarket's £3.74 meal deal and more recent £5 premium offering.

With plenty of choice and a price that won't leave wallets feeling too hot under the collar, this looks like one meal deal worth warming to.

Domino's puts a new spin on the pizza box with its 'Domino'

There's a new shape in town at Domino's and, fittingly, it's looking rather familiar.

The US chain is launching The Domino, a personal Detroit-style pizza that has been designed to resemble a classic domino tile. The rectangular pizza features a buttery pan-style crust, Parmesan, two layers of cheese, a choice of sauce and up to three toppings, before being finished with Domino's signature garlic seasoning. It's also cut into just two pieces, with each half designed to be customised differently, making it particularly appealing for solo diners who can't agree with themselves on toppings - or simply don't fancy sharing. The Domino will launch across the US from 31 August and will be available as part of Domino's $6.99 Mix & Match deal.

We're not saying this pizza is making a big deal out of itself, but it certainly knows how to make an entrance.

Shake Shack's Big Shack is back - and it's stacking up

Fans of a seriously substantial burger will want to clear some space in their calendars, because The Big Shack is making a limited-time return to Shake Shack UK from 17–31 August.

The cult favourite takes the brand's much-loved burger formula and turns the dial up, with two beef patties, three layers of toasted potato bun and its signature secret sauce, alongside the classic burger accompaniments. In other words, this is not a burger that believes in doing things by halves - although, technically, there are two patties. The towering creation has already developed something of a following, so its short stint on UK menus is likely to have burger fans flocking to their nearest Shack before it disappears again.

If you like your burgers big, bold and beautifully stacked, this one could be a handful - quite literally.

Little Moons and Candy Kittens join forces for a sour watermelon sweet treat

Two much-loved names in the snack aisle are teaming up for a collaboration that sounds like summer in a bite: Little Moons x Candy Kittens Sour Watermelon Mochi.

Bringing together Little Moons' soft, chewy mochi coating with the unmistakable sweet-and-sour watermelon flavour associated with Candy Kittens, the new creation promises a playful twist on the familiar frozen treat. Candy Kittens' Sour Watermelon sweets are already known for their tangy, tongue-tingling flavour, while Little Moons has built its reputation around bite-sized mochi ice cream, so the partnership feels like a rather natural meeting of sweet and sour minds. It's the sort of combination that sounds like it shouldn't work quite as well as it does - but we're very happy to take one for the team and find out.

Sour, sweet and seriously snackable? Consider us intrigued.

Biscoff and Toblerone create a chocolate match made in heaven

If there are two things that need very little introduction in the world of sweet treats, it's Toblerone and Biscoff - so bringing them together was always likely to cause a bit of a stir.

The new Toblerone Biscoff Diamond Truffles combine a velvety Biscoff spread filling with crunchy pieces of Toblerone nougat, all wrapped in a distinctive diamond-shaped milk chocolate shell. The collaboration is part of a wider Toblerone refresh, which also includes new 100g bars and a limited-edition Crispy Caramel flavour, as the brand looks to tap into demand for premium but accessible chocolate treats. The Biscoff truffles are already available, making this one collaboration that could be particularly hard to resist.

After all, when chocolate, caramelised biscuit and nougat get together, there's really no point trying to break them up.
