Jersey Mike's is subbing in for the UK
The US sandwich giant Jersey Mike's is crossing the Atlantic, with its first UK restaurant set to open on Argyll Street in London's West End later this autumn.
The chain, which has more than 3,300 sites across North America, will bring its made-to-order subs to British shores, complete with its signature 'juice' - a mix of red wine vinegar and oil - and the option to have sandwiches prepared 'Mike's Way'. Three more central London sites are planned, with the brand eyeing a much bigger UK and Ireland rollout.
It looks like the sandwich wars are about to get a little more interesting.

PepsiCo says WOW to better-for-you snacking
PepsiCo is giving the snack aisle a health-conscious makeover with WOW, a new non-HFSS range bringing together Wotsits and Snack a Jacks.
The three-strong line-up comprises Wotsits Real Cheesy, Wotsits Lightly Salted and Snack a Jacks Apple & Cinnamon, with the Wotsits varieties made using chickpea flour and offering a source of fibre. The range has launched in selected Tesco stores at £2.30 for six packs, ahead of a wider rollout from March 2027.
It's a case of old favourites getting a rather more wholesome makeover - proof that even the snack aisle is trying to clean up its act.

Doritos gets a protein-packed crunch
Doritos is bringing its high-protein credentials to the UK, following the successful launch of Doritos Protein in the US earlier this year.
The new 48g bags contain 10g of protein and will arrive in two flavours - Sizzling Steak and Chipotle - priced at £2. The move taps into the seemingly unstoppable appetite for protein-packed products, with Doritos aiming to give health-conscious snackers a way to get their fix without giving up the brand's trademark crunch.
Who said you can't have your crisps and eat your protein too?

Taylors finds the middle ground with Half Caff
For coffee drinkers who want a little less buzz without going completely decaf, Taylors has launched Half Caff.
The new blend combines half-caffeinated and half-decaffeinated speciality-grade Arabica coffees, delivering a medium roast with notes of hazelnut, butterscotch and malt. Available exclusively in Sainsbury's at £5.75 for 200g, the launch reflects growing interest in having a bit more flexibility around caffeine consumption.
In other words, it's coffee for those who want to keep their eye on the bean ball - just with slightly less caffeine in it.

Müller and Jaffa Cakes make a very happy marriage
Two cult favourites have joined forces as Müller Corner gets a seriously nostalgic makeover.
The new Jaffa Cakes Müller Corner combines smooth yoghurt with crunchy Jaffa Cake pieces, reviving a flavour that hasn't been seen in the range since 2004. It launched on 9 September at 90p for a single pot, with four-packs due later this month, and forms part of a wider collaboration featuring Oreo and Flipz.
It's the sort of partnership that makes perfect sense: chocolate, orange, yoghurt and a spoon - what's not to love? Consider this one a meeting of great minds.
