The annual World's 50 Best Hotels ranking has been unveiled with three London establishments making the 2024 list, whilst the Capella Bangkok Hotel takes top honours.
Claridge's was the first UK hotel on the list in 11th place, whilst Raffles London at OWO followed closely in 13th. The Connaught Hotel also made the list in 46th spot whilst prestigious Scottish venue Gleneagles, host of Golf's Ryder Cup in 2014, was the other UK hotel to make the list in 41st place.
Asia featured most regularly with 19 venues in the top 50, ahead of the 13 from Europe and nine from North America. The luxurious Capella Bangkok Hotel in Thailand climbs 10 places from No.11 in the 2023 list. It pips second place Passalacqua into second, an Italian masterpiece set in an 18th-century villa amongst spectacular terraced gardens on the shores of Italy's Lake Como. In third place is Rosewood Hong Kong, a towering edifice in the city's Victoria Dockside arts and design district.
