Three Eggs, Wavy Crisps & Sausage Comfort Food

KFC Japan goes all-in on eggs with a triple-egg chicken burger

KFC Japan is taking the humble chicken burger to seriously indulgent new heights with its latest creation, the Torori Triple Tsukimi Wafu Katsu Burger Kobore Tartar.

The limited-edition burger features a crispy chicken katsu fillet topped with not one, not two, but three fried egg-style omelettes, alongside a generous helping of tartar sauce. The result is a towering, wonderfully messy-looking burger that feels very much in keeping with Japan's love of creative, over-the-top fast food launches. The burger is part of KFC Japan's seasonal Tsukimi range, inspired by the traditional Japanese custom of moon viewing, with eggs representing the full moon.

Priced at 990 yen, it certainly makes a strong case for the idea that when it comes to fast-food toppings, more really can be more.

Meexa brings the Michelada to the UK canned drinks aisle

Meexa has launched what it describes as the UK's first craft Michelada in a can, bringing the Mexican-inspired beer cocktail into the growing ready-to-drink category.

The 4.5% ABV drink combines Bavarian-style lager with Portuguese tomatoes, Mexican guajillo chillies and Central American lime zest, creating a savoury, spicy and citrusy drink designed to recreate the character of a freshly made Michelada without the need for any cocktail-making skills. The launch comes as interest in Mexican food and drink continues to grow in the UK, with consumers increasingly looking beyond traditional beer, wine and spirits for more distinctive flavours. Priced at £14.40 for a four-pack, Meexa is positioning the drink as a convenient option for occasions such as barbecues, parties and casual summer drinking.

It also adds a welcome bit of spice to a canned drinks market that is becoming increasingly adventurous.

Walkers gets wavy with two bold new crisp flavours

Walkers is giving two of its more distinctive flavours a textural makeover with the launch of a new Wavy Cut range, featuring Lea & Perrins Worcester Sauce and Sticky Teriyaki.

The ridged crisps are designed to offer a more substantial crunch while giving the flavours plenty of surface area to cling to, with the Worcester Sauce variety delivering a savoury, tangy and slightly sweet hit and the Sticky Teriyaki bringing a sweeter, lightly spiced Japanese-inspired flavour. The new 140g sharing bags are launching exclusively in Sainsbury's initially, priced at £2, before receiving a wider UK rollout in 2027. The launch is another example of crisp brands experimenting with both format and flavour to keep shoppers interested, and Walkers' choice of Worcester Sauce and Sticky Teriyaki certainly gives the range a more distinctive personality than your standard ready-salted or cheese and onion.

For crisp fans, the combination of bold flavours and a deeper, ridged texture could make these a particularly tempting addition to the sharing-bowl line-up.
