This February, each of London's popular Barrio bars, North, East and Central, are turning their backs on the luvvy-duvvy candle lit dinners and soppy soundtracks, and instead calling all spirit loving singletons to join them for an evening full of tequila tasting and mezcal mixing for their Anti-Valentine's Fiesta.
Taking place on Saturday 13th February, Barrio's Anti-Valentine's Fiesta celebrates the legendary party which happened in 1929, where a mob of singletons associated with the Hips Don't Lie gang of southside Mexico City caused absolute mayhem, leaving nothing but a wake of empty tequila and mezcal bottles…
Guests can get warmed up with a delicious tequila and mezcal tasting menu, offering an array of agave based spirits in their traditional form, from the special Barrio tequila to more adventurous mezcals, which can be paired with sweet sangrita or verdita. Guests can soak up the alcohol with Barrio's mouth-watering mexican menu, ranging from fresh crispy squid to melt in the mouth pork tacos, and a one off 'Brasillian Special' dish will also be on offer.
Once all palettes have been adequately whet, the Barrio Allstar DJs will be taking over the wheel, providing the perfect Anti-Valentine's soundtrack until the early hours. Both of the parties at Barrio Central and Barrio North are completely free, and the party at Barrio East is just £5.
