British Food Fortnight, a national food celebration which takes place every autumn to celebrate British food and its producers, starts this Saturday 19th September. Hundreds of shops, pubs and restaurants take part; schools, hospitals, care homes and universities all run special menus; and communities across the country organise fun foodie activities.
Due to the ongoing restrictions and limitations of what's possible due to the pandemic 2020 is the first time the celebration has been held as an online experience. All the fun of a food festival is found on the campaign's website: cookery demonstrations, celebrity chefs, talks from leading people in the food world, nutritional advice, KidZone, food stalls, The Great British Food Fortnight Debate. New activities will also be added every day during the Fortnight.
