London's iconic Claridge's hotel has announced the opening of a new eatery within its walls, with the ArtSpace Café opening under the guidance of in-house Executive Pastry Chef Thibault Hauchard.
Bringing café culture to Claridge's for the very first time, Claridge's new ArtSpace Café opened in February with its own dedicated entrance on Brook's Mews bedecked with awning and flag.
The website says of the new Café: Open daily with a focus on breakfast and lunch, the Café offers a vibrant menu with crêpes as a signature, alongside tortillas, toasties, croque monsieurs and madames, mega madeleines and, naturally, Claridge's cakes galore. Designed by renowned British architectural designer John Pawson, the Café features a patisserie counter, marble communal table as a central spot, and entry down to Claridge's ArtSpace – a vast gallery which rotates exhibitions, free for all to view.
Menu items include a range of breakfast items and savoury crepes and galettes during the morning followed by a lunch menu that features some delicious sounding desserts from Hauchard. These include a Caramel Saint Honoré, Pistachio Paris-Brest and Claridge's Crest Chocolate Cake amongst other items.
