Evolution Fresh Launches New Bottled Line of Organic Kombucha

Starbucks-owned American cold-pressed juice brand Evolution Fresh recently announced it will expand its functional beverage portfolio by entering the $1.2b refrigerated tea category with the launch of new bottled Evolution Fresh Organic Kombucha.

The new kombucha will be available in six delicious flavours – Ginger Lemon Honeycrisp, Mango Pineapple, Ginger Greens, Spicy Greens, Pink Grapefruit, and Turmeric Pineapple Coconut. Customer interest in kombucha and fermented beverages is on the rise with the category growing 36 percent in 2017 according to IRI data - something we've identified through our research. In March we covered the rising Kombucha trend over on our trendhub, looking at the latest flavours, health factors, craft creations and more. Read the full report here.

"Evolution Fresh has a long-standing heritage in cold-pressed juice and we are continuing to deliver on our commitment to expand in the functional beverage category with the launch of Evolution Fresh Organic Kombucha," said Ryan Ziegelmann, president, Evolution Fresh. "We know our consumers are looking for beverages with functional benefits, and Evolution Fresh Organic Kombucha is just what they are asking for – a delicious and refreshing pick-me-up that also supports digestive wellness."

To create its kombucha, Evolution Fresh starts with carefully selected artisanal teas – Congou black tea, Yerba Matè tea, pu'erh black tea, green tea and matcha. The teas are fermented and paired with cold-pressed Evolution Fresh juice. Leading with flavour, these recipes leverage the brand's culinary expertise rooted in authentic taste and quality since 1992 to delight the palate and create the perfect combination in every bottle.

We reported back in 2015 that kombucha was set to make a big impact on the drinks scene, and we weren't wrong. Fast forward a few years and we thought it was time for an update on 'all things kombucha', given how much the trend has evolved and transformed since then. Read the report over on our trendhub here.
