Continuing the convenience trend - identified in our People's Revolution and Channel Innovation mega trends last year - fast food chain Greggs has announced it is launching its own drive-thrus nationwide. Whether it's a Cornish pasty, a steak slice or a simple sausage roll, you'll soon be able to get your Greggs snack without even leaving the comfort of your car.
The news was announced after a successful trial in Irlam, Manchester, which highlighted that Greggs customers also search for convenience when buying their products. Joining other big name high-street fast-food brands offering drive-thru services, Greggs will only be offering a cut down version of its in-store menu at these new locations. Where they will be based is still to be announced but plans involve 130 new locations around the UK, which includes an expansion of its traditional 'walk-in' shops too.
