icesupp launches in the UK, the first frozen nutritional supplement of its kind that helps to nourish, hydrate and soothe those in need. Designed initially for cancer patients, the icesupp pouches are plant-based and packed with real fruit, loaded with protein, fibre and key vitamins and minerals. Plus, they're made to be frozen – soothing and effortless to consume.
The icesupp concept came about after founders Amy and Rob suffered a cancer diagnosis within their close family before then witnessing first-hand the struggles he faced to build and maintain his weight during treatment. Normal products supplied whilst in care are meal supplement shakes. Seeing a preference for soothing ice lollies, Amy and Rob set about trying to create something truly unique – combining the goodness your body needs, with the soothing power of ice lollies.
"We have spent years developing our innovation - working alongside experts at Reading University's Food Science department and with guidance from the European Institute of Innovation & Technology and CRUK Horizons testing the feasibility and our early prototypes. We continue to work closely with our incredible product development team and specialist advisors including oncologists, dieticians, and expert health care professionals to help mould icesupp to support those in need…"
The brand has launched two favour variants – Mango & Passionfruit and Mixed Berries, with a 12-month shelf life and shipped in liquid form before being frozen at home. Each 86ml pouch contains 40% fruit juice and weighs in at 150 calories, with 5g protein and 2.5g fibre per serving.
