Aurelia has opened its doors to the first real 'Italian Aperitivo' of the summer every day from 6pm - 9pm. The experience of the aperitivo is a decades old Italian ritual and now Aurelia's patrons can partake in this tradition by sampling the complimentary canapes and appetizers on offer to enjoy with their pre-dinner drink.
The bar menu itself showcases the best of Mediterranean spirits and cocktails, like Nigroni, Americano, Bellini, Aperol and Campari spritzers, or non alcoholic drinks like Avocado, Strawberry or Melon smoothies. Aurelia's bartender Giuseppe Ciulla has developed a range of seven signature cocktails based on subtleties of the Mediterranean perfumes and flavours like Gaeta mojito - with basil and blackberries, Adore Rome and Aurelia Moresque - Ricard and fresh mint.
Although many of us are familiar with the traditional components of a Negroni - gin, sweet vermouth and Campari with an orange slice garnish - Aurelia offers the Italian variation, Negroni Sbagliato, meaning bungled Negroni - a mistake. The Negroni Sbagliato replaces the gin in a usual negroni with a dry sparkling wine. The effervescence from the sparkling wine makes it a perfect tipple for the summer.
Complementary delicious small bites, like mini chorizo tortilla, tomato and garlic bruschettas, ham mousse croutons, aubergine puree and burrata vol au vents are just a few of the varieties of nibbles that will be offered on display at the bar for you to enjoy with your pre dinner drink.
