James Lowe, Chef Founder of London Michelin starred restaurant Lyle's and his more recent opening Flor, joins the list of guest speakers at this November's Trends Event. James joins a growing list of speakers to give insight into his career, as well as focussing on the breads, pastries & desserts he created for Flor.
Lowe's first imprint of the culinary world came somewhat fortuitously, inspired by the artistic work of the chefs while waitering at the age of 23. From here it was sights set on having his own restaurants by 30 and he worked diligently and tirelessly, learning his trade at renowned venues including The Fat Duck, La Trompette and St John's before opening Lyle's back in East London where his journey first started.
He didn't have to wait long to be rewarded for his efforts, being awarded a coveted Michelin Star at the venue devoted to fresh and seasonal produce creating an award winning British menu. Lyle's has since gone on to become a regular in the World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards.
Moving on from this success, Lowe went on to open Flor this July together with his business partner from Lyle's, John Ogier. Dubbed as a wine bar and bakery, Flor sits on the edge of the vibrant and busy Borough Market and serves lunch and dinner, focusing on creating a great atmosphere where people can enjoy themselves and enjoy dining.
As well as touching on his journey to take Lyle's to one of the world's best restaurants, Lowe will be discussing the breads, pastries and desserts he created for his latest opening.
