Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is set to open a new restaurant chain nearly four years after his eponymous Italian restaurant chain went into administration. The first location of the yet to be publicly named chain is to be situated next to London's iconic Theatre Royal, likely due to the high footfall experienced around theatre opening and closing times.
Details of the new chain are as yet thin on the ground, however, it is already being described as being more premium than his previous chain of Italian restaurants, showcasing a menu focused on British produce.
Quoted on his latest venture, Oliver said: '[The new restaurant will be] about celebrating Britain's rich and diverse food scene in what I hope will be an iconic, trusted restaurant in a very special place. This opportunity truly means the world to me.'
This is the latest chef to open a new restaurant in or next to hosted spaces. We recently covered Richard Corrigan's latest restaurant opening, set for the National Portrait Gallery in London. Read more here.
