British retailer M&S has teamed up with American chain Target to sell a range of its iconic festive products in stores across the US. A curated selection of 15 Christmas-themed food and beverage items includes a Shortbread Biscuit Bus Tin, a Gingerbread Musical House Tin, a Shortbread Biscuit Light-Up Lantern and more.
"One of the things that differentiates Target is the way we make style affordable and accessible for all and this partnership is the latest example of us building on that legacy in food and beverage," explained Target executive vice president, Rick Gomez. "By joining forces with an iconic brand like M&S, we're bringing our guests amazing products and giving them another reason to turn to Target for the moments of joy that make the holidays special."
The new collaboration will likely come as a welcome step forward for the British retailer which announced last month that it would be closing nearly one in four of its stores over the next five years in a move to reduce costs. It was reported that the move was part of the company's effort to save over £300 million. The ongoing rising costs of energy was cited as one of the key problems leading to increased financial strain. The brand quoted the bill to cover keeping the lights on alone costing over £40 million last year.
