McDonalds Launches Delivery Initiative In New York City

Fans of the world's largest hamburger fast food chain, McDonald's, will soon be able to enjoy the food they love when and where they want it with the launch of a McDonald's delivery test with Postmates, a direct-to-consumer delivery service. Starting today, customers in select boroughs of New York City can go to Postmates.com or download the Postmates mobile app to order their favorite McDonald's food for delivery within an hour. The test involves 88 select McDonald's restaurants in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.

"This is a city where delivery is a way of life," said Mwaffak Kanjee, vice president, general manager of the McDonald's New York Metro region. "We are excited to launch this test so our customers can get hot, freshly prepared food right from McDonald's kitchens, when and where they want it."

Barring ice cream cones, the full McDonald's menu, will be available for delivery during the normal operating hours of participating restaurants, with certain restaurants even offering 24h delivery. There will be a delivery fee calculated based on the geographic distance traveled by the courier as well as a standard service charge.
