Menu Revamp As Subway Turns To Set Sandwich Range

QSR chain Subway is changing the way it offers customers its well-knows sandwiches with the introducing of a ready-chosen fillings menu for its subs - the Subway Series Menu.

To date, the chain has always offered its customers the choice of designing their sub from start to finish - choosing their bread, main filing, salad selection and finally condiment sauce on top. But the introduction of its new 15-strong sub menu with set fillings will change this and allow for a quicker service over the counter and therefore increased productivity. The new menu will set alongside the existing fully-customisable offering.

The new menu was officially introduced on 31st May, the biggest change at the fast food chain since its launch in the UK in 1996. Not only will the change improve in-store, the Subway Series Menu will also make things more straight forward when ordering through third-party delivery services.

The new menu items include several takes on sandwiches already proposed on the Subway menu, including The Notorious B.M.T - with ham, pepperoni, salami and Monterey Jack cheddar; as well as The Baller - with pork and beef meatballs.Other options include an all-day breakfast sub, Big Breakwich, featuring streaky bacon, sausage patty, poached eggs and double American-style cheese; or the vegan-friendly Rockin' Moroccan which comes in a tortilla wrap with a sliced plant patty, marinara sauce, crispy onions and salad.

"In developing the new menu, guests told us that they wanted food tailored to their lifestyle," said Subway's UK and Ireland managing director Nigel Doughty. "In order to meet that need, we've evolved our menu and are putting the power back into the hands of guests, so that there are now two ways to Subway – created by us or created by you."

Subway, like most of the QSR chains, has experienced strong growth over the past few years despite the economic downturn, as consumers look for more affordable food options, paired with increased on-the-go convenience.
