Renowned chef Michel Roux Jr is set to open a new restaurant at The Langham hotel in London this summer, just months after he closed the doors to Le Gavroche. The new restaurant, named Chez Roux, will replace the temporary Good Front Room in the hotel's Palm Court.
The menu is said to take inspiration from Roux's childhood in Kent where both his father, Albert, and uncle spent several years cooking for the Cazalet family on the Fairlawne estate. Chez Roux has been announced as opening on 22nd May. Chez Roux will present a unique opportunity to experience Michel Roux's cooking in London, with menus that showcase historical British classics and traditional French cooking methods, presented in contemporary, refined dishes.
Dishes are said to include classics such as Welsh rarebit and a grilled lobster with garlic butter and fries, served alongside a a range of Champagnes and cocktails reflecting drinks from the 1960s.
