New Openings October 2025

Our latest monthly recap of the hottest new food and beverage openings from around the world on trendhub is live, spotlighting six highlight openings from October here on the blog.

In no particular order, six highlights from the comprehensive foodwatching and drinkswatching new opening reports are:

Richoux, London

Richoux is reopening near Oxford Street after all their estate was closed during lockdown.

The new Richoux is a Parisian-style café, serving food all-day. The cooking is mainly over fire and dishes include a 36-day dry-aged ribeye for two, escargot in garlic and parsley butter or croque monsieur and steak tartare that is prepared tableside.

Sweet touches will be served from a trolley and include patisserie and viennoiserie. Wine and cocktails will be on the French side.

Melitta Next Door, Melbourne

Melitta Next Door is designed to be an affordable all-week bar and not just a weekend venue.

They serve pre-batched cocktails and freezer chilled martinis in three styles: a Direct Martini, a Dirty One and a type of Espresso Martini. In the esky section, there are longnecks and drinks such as Boyle's tequila Ranch Water and Passioncello Spritz, plus wines on tap.

Food includes Mediterranean barbeque food from Lorena Corso such as tapas, skewers, stuffed squid and panelle.

Super Mensch, San Francisco

Super Mensch is a modern take on a Jewish Deli that takes inspiration from delis such as Katz in New York or Langer's in Los Angeles.

The bread, pita, bagels and chocolate cake will be cooked at Causwells (owned by Chef Adam Rosenblum). The Latkes will be baked rather than fried, served with crème fraiche, apple butter and wild salmon roe. The Matzo Ball Soup will have a trio of matzo balls rather than the traditional one, showing that although the menu is traditional, they have their own modern twists added.

Drinks also have a twist, like the Matzo Ball Soup Margarita or the Cel-Ray made with tequila and mezcal and 'every part' of the celery plant.

Mius, Hong Kong

Mius is led by Shelley Tai, an award-winning mixologist and Nutmeg and Clove, Singapore alumni.

Based on a comfortable neighbourhood bar, the menu is made up of modern classics and easy to drink cocktails. Drinks include a warm Matcha Mori made with hot whisky and salted vanilla cream, Guava Oolong Float with fruit sorbet in sparkling sake.

There are comfort food bites such as crispy three yellow chicken, beef tataki and for a sweet option, there is a bourbon chocolate tart.

Future Train, Kyoto

Future Train Kyoto Diner and Café is coloured bright pink and purple. The building is made up of three upcycled Thunderbird cars situated at the Umekoji Highline. The area is designed to be an entertainment and dining area.

The food is said to be eye-catching and include the Ume Mirai Burger in a Plum Blossom Shaped Bun or the Birdy Buddy Pancakes with the restaurant's mascot in canary coloured chestnut cream. Milkshakes are brightly coloured, and cocktails are served in quirky visual ways.

Slowpour, Liverpool

Slowpour is a subterranean bar and is owned by Carey Hanlon and Caitlin Waugh. The bar is called Slowpour, as the bar is all about slowing down and for customers to enjoy the experience.

There is a bespoke sound system in partnership with Turn End Audio, plus they have collaborated with London Distillery 58 and Co, who are known for sustainable spirits.

Slowpour is offering high-quality cocktails such as Coffee Dark with Hennessy Cognac, Two Words Coffee, custard and crème blend and a torched crème brûlée topping.
