Our latest monthly recap of the hottest new food and beverage openings from around the world on TrendHub is live, spotlighting six highlights from September openings here on the blog.
In no particular order, six highlights from the longer foodwatching and drinkswatching new opening lists are:
Table Manners, Sydney
Table Manners is a European-inspired restaurant and bar that's opened in in the suburb of Bronte, featuring a six-seat bar and 75 seat dining area, owned by Alex Cameron in his first solo venture. The interior uses soft textures, in greens and caramel with striking art, booth and banquette seating.
The menu is a modern mix of European classics, with inspiration from Italy, the UK and France. Starring dishes include brioche topped with toro (tuna belly), scorched scallops, stracciatella and mussels in café de Paris butter, or a Moreton Bay bug sandwich. The dish that is drawing attention is the Assassin's Spaghetti, based on Stanley Tucci's dish from Searching Italy. Dry spaghetti is added to a hot pan with oil and a rich tomato sauce, this caramelises the strands, cooking enough to twist around a fork but retaining a bite, topped with mega king prawns.
