U.S.-based chain Red Lobster, the world's largest seafood restaurant company, is debuting Korean BBQ Grilled Shrimp, a new, globally-inspired preparation during Endless Shrimp as a way to meet consumers' interest in and demand for complex, and interesting flavour experiences. This new flavour option is available starting this October for a limited time.
Often, new, intriguing flavours debut in foods like spiced drinks, mash-up candy and crazy potato chips. But, Red Lobster's guests uncovered an opportunity – that shrimp is a great food to discover a new favorite flavour – and shrimp's versatility can move flavour exploration beyond items that complement a meal to the center of the plate.
"Our guests told us they love shrimp because it is highly appealing and familiar – and can be enjoyed in many ways from skewers to scampi to fried," said Danielle Connor, SVP of Menu Strategy & Development at Red Lobster. "They also told us that Korean BBQ is a flavour that would entice them to make a special trip to the restaurant, so we're excited to make it an option during Endless Shrimp."
Korean BBQ is a flavour typically found on beef, pork and chicken, and now Red Lobster is bringing guests a new way to enjoy it with seafood. The NEW! Korean BBQ Grilled Shrimp perfectly pairs wood-grilled shrimp with sweet, savoury soy ginger sauce and Korean Gochujang Paste.
During Endless Shrimp, guests can pick two of their favourite shrimp preparations from the lineup to start, and then, when they're ready, they can order additional shrimp options one at a time. In addition to the NEW! Korean BBQ Grilled Shrimp, this year's Endless Shrimp line-up includes:
- NEW! Parmesan Peppercorn Shrimp
- Hand-Crafted Shrimp Scampi
- Hand-Breaded Shrimp
- Shrimp Linguini Alfredo
