Popular fast-food chain Subway has launched a new vegan steak sandwich in response to the increasing public demand for vegan alternatives. The new 'Veggie-Delight' has hit Subway menus at several locations in Finland as the new option is rolled out.
The vegan steak is based on a soy patty,with red onion, red pepper, green pepper, carrot, spinach, corn, white pepper, pea, green chili, and garlic. The sandwich can also be customized with a number of vegan-friendly sauces, including barbecue, sweet onion, “spicy," and red vinegar and oil.
Launching in the Nordics follows a similar pattern to competitor McDonalds, who launched their McVegan burger in Sweden and Finland late last year, with huge success.
