British supermarket chain Tesco has introduced its latest ready-meal range, with a plant-forward collection of vegetable-based meals with quality ingredients and a sharp brand identity.
The 12-strong range of meat-free meals is made from plant-based ingredients including pulses, grains and vegetables and targets those consumers wishing to reduce their meat intake without compromising on flavour. The Root & Soul range represents a celebration of the craft, passion and creativity that comes together to transform humble produce into flavoursome dishes.
Tesco worked with design agency Coley Porter Bell to create easily identifiable packaging for the Root & Soul range that champions the vegetables within. Sam Stone, Creative Director at Coley Porter Bell, commented: "We wanted to celebrate the humble vegetable through illustration and allow the product to convey the fullness of flavour.
"We are proud to have created a brand that is confident in displaying the authentic manner and rich expertise the growers and chefs perfectly combine to create a satisfying veggie dish."
The range includes Root & Soul Flame seared peppers with smoked paprika potatoes & chickpeas; Root & Soul Cumin roasted cauliflower & warming Chana Saag Masala; Root & Soul Paprika roasted butternut squash with a cannellini bean & white wine stew; and a Root & Soul Roasted Broccoli & Rice Layered Salad, amongst others.
