The annual World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards have announced those who made the list from 51-100 ahead of the full list being revealed this week. Three venues made the list, all from London, as we saw a return to the awards roster for Core by Clare Smyth in 71st place.
Also making the list from the capital was Lyle's, a regular recognition in the awards now, in 86th place, whilst Brat moved up to 53rd having sat 86th last year.
The list of venues spanned the globe with Singapore well represented thanks to four venues - Australian-style BBQ restaurant Burnt Ends, Zén, Meta and the one Michelin starred Labyrinth featuring. As did Bangkok with Sorn, sophisticated modern German restaurant Sühring, Nusara and one Michelin starred Potong. Tokyo added to the strong Asian representation with two restaurants making the list - Fine-dining restaurant Narisawa and three Michelin starred Sazenka.
Aside from London's three, other European venues to feature include Hof Van Cleve in Kruishoutem, Belgium, Ernst in Berlin, Copenhagen's two Michelin starred seafood hotspot Jordnær listed alongside the Danish capital's Kadeau in 91st; chef Alain Passard's Arpège, Alléno Paris au Pavillon Ledoyen, Japanese/French fusion restaurant Kei and Le Clarence all from the French capital. The two non-Parisian restaurants to feature from France were Flocons de Sel in Megève and Ceto in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Spain saw Barcelona's Enigma feature in 82nd place, with Ricard Camarena Restaurant in Valencia also making the awards list.
