In a recent visit to Paris the prominence of the Mellow Yellow trend which we identified and reported on recently on our trendhub was something that caught our eye. Mellow Yellow patisserie was in abundance, confirming the colour's popularity across food and drink at present.
It's not just in our foods that we're seeing yellow appear, shades from ochre to primrose have been cropping up on fashion runways, beauty blogs, interior design and social media. The colour has even been labeled "Gen Z Yellow" thanks to its popularity with those in their teens and early twenties.
As a part of this lemon remains a classic flavour, with plenty of products taking advantage of its popularity. Nandos releasing their lemon and coconut sauce, we saw Kitkat's lemon drizzle flavour, a lemon version of the Jammy Dodger made an appearance, and a hot favourite Crosstown Doughnuts in London teamed up with Pizza Pilgrims to create limited edition limoncello doughnuts.
